London U16's beat Georgian BayLondon U16's beat Georgian Bay
Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Despite showing lots of spirit, London showed early signs of dominant play with an early try by Curtis Moffat, and an unsuccessful conversion got us up 5-0.  Both teams eager to show their strength received early warnings about high tackles.  Shortly after the warnings, Matt Sleegers headed the next charge with a big run and great pass back to Richard Paddock for a brilliant try and a good conversion by Jeremy O’Callaghan.  London leading 12-0 at this point.  Georgian Bay rallied back hard and somehow for what seemed forever, London held them back before pushing them back to half.  With great play by both teams in the middle of the field, Nathan Arnold last name) got in a great try with conversion good for 19-0 going into half time.

Qiuickly into the second half, with a big run from Richard Paddock and a short pass to Steven Inglis, Steven got his first try of the game and giving London a 24-0 lead.  The great rugby continued when Curtis Moffat made a great pick up of the ball and a great pass to Steve Inglis with conversion good for 31-0.  Georgian Bay came back showing their grit and pushed London back deep into our own end again where Richard Paddock picked off a Titan pass and ran passed everyone down the field for a long try and another good conversion by Jeremy for 38-0.  With the Titans continued attempts at fending London off being unsuccessful, Matt Sleegers scored his first try of the game with another good conversion for 45-0.  Again London pushed the Titans back into their own end and after an attempted kick out by the Titans that landed in their own end zone that was picked up by Chris for a try but no conversion for 50-0.  Continued grit showed by the Titans still had them coming on strong, one big attempted hit took Kelton Americano right out of his shoe but didn’t stop Kelton from turning him back then pulling him through and down to the ground and not missing a step got back into his shoe and back in the game!  Shortly after Richard Paddock received a yellow card and a trip to the sin bin for a high tackle leading to a Titan try with a failed conversion for a score of 50-5.  This busy half wasn’t near done yet, with an attempted kick into the try zone during a run in by Jeremy O’Callaghan that hit the goal post popped out and got picked up by Connor Praill who slipped in the Titan end for a try with good conversion and it’s 57-5.  With enough time for another run before the game end, Steve Inglis made a run from mid field with another good conversion from Jeremy.  Final score 64-5 and a great game by both teams!
