London was able to secure a spot at the top of the Jones division thanks to a solid victory over Oshawa, who was at the top of the Keenan division. London was able to pull out a 37-28 victory…although the score reported was 32-28 in a tough hard fought game in front of the Alumni crowd at St.George’s.
London opened up the scoring with a try by outside center Ryan Jenner, followed by a try off a stolen lineout ball by second row Dave Humble. Oshawa was able to counter with their own try but after another try by London and a converted posts by Fly half Derek Daypuck, London had a 20-14 lead at the half.
In the second half a 3rd try was put up by Jenner, before Oshawa was able to score again. This back and forth action continued as winger Wei Lai scored for London before Oshawa was again able to close the gap with another try.
London held strong in the last few minutes, showing some tough defense and preserving the win.
London's C side was able to beat St.Kitts, while the B side continued its winning ways with a win over Oshawa
London is on the road in their next match August 8th in Markham.
